Meet the Team

Brad Countryman – Director

Brad started playing the piano at five years old. He also played alto and tenor saxophone in middle school. He is the standing bowling champion of River Pointe Church and The Warehouse.

He’s earned two college degrees: a Bachelor’s in Biology from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, and an Associates in Applied Animal Science from Argosy University in Minneapolis. Brad sang in an a cappella group while in college.

He joined The Warehouse team in 2014 as director. He enjoys listening to musical theater, hip hop, classic rock, and some pop music. In addition to being Director of The Warehouse, Brad also manages the Yard & Grill, Mary Jane’s Cafe, the bookstore, and tends to the chickens, goats, donkeys, and peacocks at River Pointe Church.

Although his many hats keep him pretty busy, Brad likes to spend time with his wife, Jenna, their three children, Carter, Stella, and Mason, and his dog, Minne.

Mark Dekraker – Manager

Mark joined The Warehouse team in February 2017, and has been playing violin and piano for 12 years. He’s performed at Carnegie Hall, twice at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Austria, and Prague. In July 2019, Mark turned in his Instructor cap for the Manager hat.

He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Liberty University in Web Design, and is currently pursuing his Master’s in the same field. While in college, he continued his music experience by playing in various worship teams for churches and a cover band called Jamie & The Wanderers.

When he’s not playing or managing The Warehouse, Mark can be found studying or spending time with his wife, Kayla, and their two cats.

Lauren Chiba – Piano Instructor

Lauren started her music education with oboe in middle school, flute in jr. high, and piano in high school. She played in the Region XIII Band, Region XIII Orchestra and qualified for Area in high school, missing the All-State Band by one chair in her junior year. She performed in the marching band in high school with the color guard for two years and as a drum major for two years. She attended The University of Houston and first majored in Music Education, then English Literature with a minor in Education. She performed with the Spirit of Houston marching band while in college on both flute and baritone. She continued her piano education there as well through four semesters of class piano, and she joined the music service sorority Tau Beta Sigma serving as Spirit and Sisterhood Chair.

Lauren first joined The Warehouse team in March of 2013 with a brief hiatus in the fall of 2017 to complete an internship with The Walt Disney Company at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. While there, she performed in the Merchandise “role” at Disney Springs, gaining specialized skills through her various locations. She returned in February of 2018 teaching and as an administrative assistant where she became more involved with the day to day operations and manages the social media platforms of The Warehouse.

When she isn’t playing music, Lauren enjoys writing, reading, baking, crafting, traveling, taking photographs, and binge watching Netflix. Ask her about her cats! She loves animals and all things Disney.

Chris Delany – Piano & Guitar Instructor

Dakota Harper – Guitar Instructor

Dakota recently joined The Warehouse team in April 2019. He’s from Midland, TX and began playing guitar at age 14.

He was involved in his school’s choir and musical theater programs in high school, and even performed with Christian Pop artist Toby Mac in Nashville.

Dakota is currently studying music business at Houston Community College, and is working on a debut album from his small home studio. When not performing, Dakota enjoys collecting rare comic books and enjoying the music scene in Houston.

Savannah Hulburt – Vocal Instructor

Marty Naul – Drum Instructor

Marty Naul attended Sam Houston State University from 1971 to 1973, where he majored in Music Education and the University of Houston from 1973 to 1975, where he majored in Music. Even though he was a member of the rock band Oz Knozz at the time, Marty spent his first year out of college as a high school band director, using his knowledge and experience with symphonic and marching bands that he had acquired as a student.

After a year of teaching, Marty got a lot more serious about his rock drumming, touring with Oz Knozz, who regularly shared the stage with the likes of Cheap Trick, Supertramp, Peter Frampton, Judas Priest, Kansas, and many other national and international acts. Over the years his band Oz Knozz recorded and released several albums and singles, including the 2012 multiple GRAMMY nominated CD, “True Believer”, as well as playing on as many as eleven albums by not only Oz Knozz, but other artists such as Chameleon, Midnight Circus, the Praise/Worship artist, John Sellers, and most recently his latest project, the Symphonic Metal band, Worhol.

Marty continues to play live and record with various artists from all over the country, and teach drums and percussion at The Warehouse School of Music since January of 2017.

Victoria Orta – Vocal, Violin & Piano Instructor

Rachel Toalson – Vocal & Piano Instructor

Recognizing that Rachel had always liked music and singing from a young age, her parents enrolled her in piano lesson at five years old. She was also a member of the International Thespian Society and attended Area for UIL in musical theater.

In addition to teaching vocal and piano lessons at The Warehouse, Rachel has lead worship at Hope City for about three years.

Rachel joined The Warehouse team in August 2017. Currently, she is studying graphic design at the Art Institute of Houston, and keeps involved with music by writing music, listening to music, and singing at other churches in the Houston area.

She also enjoys watching Netflix, baking, making and going to see art, hanging out with her friends, and face masks.
